Bio

Edith Arlene Turner of Wylie, Texas passed away in Wylie on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Edith was born in Collin County, Texas on June 3, 1920. Her parents are the late James William Ellenburg and Susie Moore Ellenburg. Edith married Louis Edward Turner on October 9, 1939 in Rockwall, Texas. They made their home in Wylie and raised two sons there. Edith worked at the Wylie Hospital where she was a cook. Edith was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Edith is survived by her sons, Tommy G. Turner and wife, Barbara of Wylie and Charles W. Turner and wife Diana of Bullard, Texas. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Kerri Kansas and husband Bryan, Susie Saxion and husband Mike, Tim Turner, Gina Hurley and husband Dennis and Emily Turner. Edith's great grandchildren are, Ella Kansas, Duncan Kansas, Greyson Saxion, Wyatt Saxion, Jessica Guidry and husband Jamie and two great-great grandchildren, Grant and Brent Guidry. Visitation is Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Allen Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Sward officiating. After the funeral service, Edith will be buried beside her husband, Lewis at the Wylie Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Allen Funeral Home.
