Bio
Doris Arlene Gammel, 83, longtime area resident, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born Feb. 8, 1931 on their farm north of Fort Morgan, to Fred and Alta (Robertson) Ficken. Arlene married Arthur L. Gammel on December 28, 1947 in Fort Morgan. She was a member of the First Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and life member of the VFW Auxiliary. Arlene enjoyed cooking, baking and playing bingo. Survivors include two sons, Dan Gammel of Fort Morgan and David Gammel and wife Deb of Greeley; two daughters, Janis Albert and husband Tom of Aurora and Joyce Gammel of Fort Morgan; one brother, Donald Ficken of Greeley; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; eight brothers and sisters and her parents. Graveside Memorial Services and inurnment will be Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Serenity Falls in the Riverside Cemetery in Ft. Morgan.--Heer Mortuary & Crematory
