McCook - Proxey K. Prukop, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 26, 2016. She was born in the Polish settlement of Kosciusko, TX, and moved to the farming community of McCook, TX as a young child. She was a devout Catholic and a founding member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in McCook. Proxey had many talents, and she will be remembered especially for her gifted baking and sewing skills. She was a very active member of the McCook community, having served in many capacities including in PTA and 4-H while her children were growing up, and lifelong involvement in the church Altar Society. Most importantly, Proxey was dedicated to her family, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Proxey is preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Philip R. Prukop; son, David; grandchildren, Caitlynn Prukop, Joshua Gibson; a brother, Ernest Keller; and a sister, Rose Marie Keller. Family members will be present to receive visitors on Friday, December 2, 2016, from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in McCook, Texas.
