Anna Marie Crouse, 96, died Jan. 7, 2015, at Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen. She was born on the homestead south of Mullen on Feb. 10, 1918, to Louis and Mary (Herncal) Neal, the fifth of seven children. The family moved to Mullen and she attended Mullen schools, graduating high school in 1936. She worked as a housekeeper/maid at various ranches in the area. She married George W. Crouse in 1941. They lived most of their married lives in Ashby, raising four children. They moved to Mullen in 1993 after George retired. They were married 61 years by his death in 2002. Anna had been a resident of Pioneer Memorial Rest Home since 2006. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Crouse; brothers, Joseph, Francis, Alois, infant Peter and James; infant sister, Alicia; and a son, Louis (John) Crouse. Anna is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (Hugo) Weber, of Peoria, Ill., Georgann (Larry) French and Jo (Dick) Macke, of Mullen; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Regina Brewer, of Colorado, and Dorthy Johnston, of Mullen. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mullen. Burial will be at Cedarview Cemetery in Mullen. Mullen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
