Winifred (Winnie) Davis, Age 88 born November 11, 1926 to Charles and Lucille Whorton in San Antonio, TX passed away January 4, 2015. Preceded in death by husband Harman Tate Davis and daughter Sharon. Winnie is survived by daughter Lynda, two sisters, Kathryn Coston, Charlene Vukasin, brother William Wharton and wife Joan, numerous nieces and nephews. Winifred went to High School and College in San Antonio. She worked for Civil Service for 17 years. She was a member of Oasis and volunteered there, as well as Warm Springs and the VA Hospital. She was also a member of the 36th Division Ladies Auxiliary, DAV and The American Legion. She loved to travel, and often said how lucky she was to be able to, and did extensively for a number of years in the US and abroad. She had many friends and lifetime friends whom she loved as well as a loving friend to many people. She loved God and worshipped at St. Matthews Church in San Antonio, TX. SERVICES A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd. at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 14, 2015 with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Family request no flowers and donation be made to charity of their choice or also please consider Hospice Care. She also wanted to acknowledge Penny and Van Odom who have been so much a part of her life. Arrangements by Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
