Obituary published 1/7/2015 Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln, NE 68510 Mary Ann Tally, 83, of Lincoln, died January 5, 2015. Mrs. Tally was born May 22, 1931 to William and Margaret (McKiever) Pratt in Syracuse, Nebraska, where she lived her first 18 years and formed several lifelong, cherished friendships, after which she moved to Lincoln. Mary worked at the National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln, prior to having children and after they were in school. During the interlude, she married Kenneth Daniel Tally, and the couple lived in Tacoma, Washington, where their first child Gregory Kendall was born. they returned to Lincoln before the birth of their two other sons. Mary lived most of her last 13 years at the Cotner Center Condos Lincoln, where she formed many additional dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Frances Pratt; husband Kenneth; and son Greg Tally. She is survived by her children Mark and Teresa Andre of Mexico City; Brian Tally of Lincoln; a grandson, Kendall Andre Tally; and several nieces and nephews. Many of those treasured nieces and nephews are the children of her closest friends from young adulthood, who became sisters-in-law. In addition to her family, both immediate and extended, Mary Ann loved to travel and journeyed to Washington, D.C. more than two dozens of times; often to California; as well as overseas to visit her sons and loved ones. She also most enjoyed simply spending time with friends and reading. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Wyuka Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00-8:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln 68510. In lieu of memorials, merely remember that Mary loved and appreciated all who became part of her life.
