Mattison is son of John J A Bell b abt 1810 and died aft 1880 in Clay Co, Ga. His mother was Martha (Unknown). He was born in Stewart Co, Georgia. His siblings are: William b 1839, Jacob b 1843, George Washington b July 23, 1846 d June 26, 1914, James Rufus b 1847, John Bell b 1850, Rebecca Bell Kimbro b Sept 15, 1857 and d Feb 27, 1912 In Geneva Co.,Al., Martha Bell b 1853, Mary Ellen Bell Kimbro b 1855 d 1896 In Geneva Co., Ga., Miles Alexander b oct 23, 1855 d 1926 Marianna, Fl. and Ira b 1857. William, ML, GW and James were all in the CSA from Stewart Co, Georgia. Madison Levi and George Washington migrated out to Freestone Co, Texas in the late 1870's. Madison and Sarah Gorey Bell's children are: William C b Jan 17, 1868, Thomas b abt 1870, Madison A b 1875, Emma M b 1879, MJ b 1877, I L b 1878, and Margaret Bell Cash. ____________________________________________________ Fairfield Recorder newspaper - May 24, 1901 issue Mr. Mat Bell, an old citizen of Cotton Gin community, died last week. He has been a resident of the county about thirty-five years, and had a large number of friends and acquaintances, and was highly esteemed by all.
