Agnes L. Neu was the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth (Borchet) Neu. She was born in Lizard Township, Pocohontas County, Iowa. She was married to Valentine J. Overy on January 4, 1927, in Pocahontas County, Iowa. --U.S. Social Security Applications & Claims Index, 1936-2007 ========== Agnes L. Neu Overy, 91, a resident of St. Anthony's Healthcare Center, died there at 7:35 AM Saturday, Oct. 30, 1993. Born Dec. 3, 1901, in Pocahontas, IA, she moved to Lafayette from Wolcott in 1950. She married Valentine J. Overy on Jan. 4, 1927, in Iowa; he died in 1982. Mrs. Overy trained as a teacher and taught school briefly. She later worked seven years in Purdue University residence halls. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Surviving are three daughters, Yvonne Smith of Lafayette, Shirley Overy of Chicago, IL, and Janice King of Virginia; one son, George Overy of Tucson, AZ; three sisters, Cecelia Robinson of Sun City, AZ, Ann Barrett of Berkeley, CA, and Sally Kleen of Pocahontas, IA; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
