Valeria Hickenbottom, 93, of Kearney, formerly of Fremont, NE died Thursday, January 01, 2015 at the St. Luke’s Good Samaritan Village in Kearney. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2014 at the Calvary Cemetery in Fremont, NE. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger is in charge of local arrangements. Valeria Elizabeth Hickenbottom was born April 25, 1921 in Snyder, Nebraska to Herman and Barbara Wisneiski. On September 12, 1942, Valeria was united in marriage to Donald Hickenbottom in Callaway, Nebraska. She was a longtime employee of Campbell’s Soup in Fremont, NE. Valeria moved to Kearney in 2000 to be closer to family. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and enjoyed spending her time reading and gardening. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Sebree and her husband, Bill of Kearney, Lynne Johnson of Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren, Lynette (Stephen) Hart, Brett (Sonja) Sebree, Jason (Melissa) Johnson; great grandson, Joshua Hart; sister, Elaine Duncan of Bakersfield, CA; brother-in-law, Fred Fulton of Livermore, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Arlene Fulton.
