Bio

Chester William Jech was born on Jan. 7, 1924, to Premysl William Jech and Bessie Lee (Poindexter) Jech on the family farm east of Okarche, OK. He graduated from Big Four School, attending Oklahoma State University and was drafted while there into the United States 8th Air Force. He was the tail gunner, which included flying on D-Day, May 25, 1946. Chester married Ruby Ruth Bennett May 25, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Kingfisher, OK. They farmed for the next several years before beginning a partnership with Stanfill Chevrolet in the early 1970s, later through the years he and Ruby became the sole owners of the Chevrolet dealership. After selling Jech Chevrolet they opened the Jech Wheelhorse and Magneto Shop. He attended Oak Valley Baptist Church and later at First Baptist Church, Crescent, OK., where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Chester died at the age of 90, Dec. 1, 2014. He is survived by his three children, Cheryl Kramer, Bill Jech, and Pam Davis and her husband Kent Davis; grandchildren, Kolby and Danica Kramer of Kingfisher, Lacey and Chris Kuehn of Elk City, and Laura Davis of Charlotte, North Carolina; two great-grandsons, Gabriel Jech and Easton Kuehn. Chester was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; both of his parents; his sister, Joyce Lee King; two grandsons, Premysl Jech and William Jech. Burial was Dec. 11, 2014 at Oakland-Knowles Cemetery, Crescent, followed by a celebration of his life at the First Baptist Church, Kingfisher.
