U.S. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS WORLD WAR II VET Mary Louise Walton, 81, of Sioux City died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at a Sioux City care center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Roger Madden of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Mary was born Dec. 29, 1922, in South Sioux City, the daughter of Theodore E. and Lillie E. (Pratt) Frederick. She graduated from Dakota City High School and received her degree in nursing from Michael Reese Heights Hospital in Chicago, Ill. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and was a veteran of World War II. She married Howard L. Walton in April 1953, in South Sioux City. He died Feb. 5, 1975, in Sioux City. She was an administrator of pediatrics for 20 years at St. Vincent Hospital in Sioux City and a floor nurse for 10 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in South Sioux City. Survivors include a brother and his wife, Donald and Beverly Frederick of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Kenneth Frederick. Pallbearers will be Vern Walton, Duane and Dan Frederick, Dean Chapman, John Bern and Norval Nadrchal. Honorary pallbearers will be Lauren and Jeramie Frederick, Bruce Hansen and Zachary Hanson.
