Bio

LYLE -- The funeral for Elizabeth A. Nasby was to be at 1:30 p.m.today at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Burial was to be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Oakland. Elizabeth A. Sievert, 86, formerly of Lyle, was born on Oct. 27, 1909, in South Dakota. She married Reuben Nasby on Dec. 25, 1928, in Forestburg, S.D. He died March 31, 1985. The couple farmed in South Dakota for one year after marriage and then came to Minnesota to farm in the Moscow, Oakland and Albert Lea areas. From 1946 to 1950, they spent time in the western United States. They then returned to Minnesota to work a farm northwest of Lyle. After retirement, they moved to Woonsocket, S.D., in 1969, living there until 1981. They then returned again to Minnesota, buying a home near Rose Creek. Mrs. Nasby subsequently lived in Heritage House in Lyle and most recently in Adams. Survivors include a son Vernon of Albert Lea; three daughters, Elverna (Mrs. Donald) Kezar of Minneapolis, Marlene (Mrs. Earl) Farlinger of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and Shirley Jenkins of Austin; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister. Visitation was held Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin.
