Bio

Augusta Ahrens, age 90, passed away on January 29, 2008 at the Guadalupe Valley Nursing Home in Seguin, Texas. Mrs. Ahrens was born on June 6, 1917 in Karnes County, Texas to Charles Knetsch and Clara Augusta Ewald. Augusta married Raymond Ahrens on March 6, 1934 in Atascosa County. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Some of Augusta's favorite activities were dancing, playing dominoes, listening to music as well as baking. Augusta is survived by two sons, Stanley Ahrens and his wife Betty of LaVernia, Texas and Clarence "Pete" Ahrens of Denton, Texas. There is one daughter Doris Haigler and her husband Jerry of Rockport, Texas and one brother Edwin Knetsch and his wife Orine of Uvalde, Texas. The grandsons include Pistol Ahrens of New Braunfels, Texas and Stevie Ahrens of Pipe Cree, Texas and Rick Lake of Seguin, Texas. There is one granddaughter, Tiffany Kessler of Carrollton, Texas and numerous great-grandchildren. Augusta was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Ahrens. Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, February 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels, Texas. Memorials may be sent to American Alzheimer's Association.
