Bio

James "Jim" Santage, age 63, of Columbus died Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at his home. Jim was born September 14, 1951 in Columbus, Nebraska to Calvin and Helen (Shemek) Santage. He grew up and went to school in Columbus. He was part of the wrestling team during his high school years. Jim became a jockey at the age of 16, however due to an accident, that career only lasted a few years. However, his career remained with horses, which he had a strong passion for. Over the years, he met many people and had numerous friends that he dearly thought of and that also thought a great deal about him. Jim had a special gift when it came to horses and animals. Jim is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Ricky) Peters, grandsons, Gavin, Logan and Maddox of Saginaw, Texas. His sisters, Susan (David) Murphy of Columbus, Peggy (Mark) Blessen of Columbus, brother, Jerry (Sheila) Santage of Columbus, nieces, Shelley, Erin, Sherry and Jodi and nephews, Steven, Derek and Jared. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cal and Helen Santage.
