Helena Hunter, 65, of Palacios died December 22, 2002 at Palacios Community Hospital. She was born March 21, 1937 in Biddeford, Maine to the late Armand and Florence Antoine Petit. Mrs. Hunter has been a resident of Palacios since 1953, a member of the Catholic Church and was an auxiliary member of the Palacios VFW, American Legion and Eagles. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Roger Bishop of Palacios, Donna and Jack Campbell of Humble, and Cathy and Mark Merck of Collegeport; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Cathy Hunter, Mike and Jeanie Hunter, and Keith and Paulette Hunter all of Palacios; step-daughter, Janice Rightmer and her husband Ray of Spring, Texas; sister, Sandra Digiovanni of Damon; step-sister, Audrey Klodner of Calif; 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Julius Hunter and by a great granddaughter Skye Johnson. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Palacios Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. James Ely officiating. Interment will be at the Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daryl Hunter, Casey Campbell, Trammel Hunter, Shawn Johnson, Steven Ramirez and Leonard Lamar; Junior Pallbearers will be Derek Hunter and Matthew Merck; and pallbearers will be the Junior Collins family, The John D. Glenn family, the Billy Morton family, and the Ernie Tresslet family.
