Tom Maslonka, 92, of Decatur, Nebraska, died Friday, March 4, 1994, at a hospital in Onawa, Iowa. Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill, Nebraska, with Rev. Brion Tolzman officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill under direction of Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa. Mr. Maslonka was born April 26, 1901, in rural Ord, Nebraska, the son of Antone and Magdalena (Barnes) Maslonka. He married Marie Maw on January 17, 1924, in Sioux City. She died January 24, 1985, in Lyons, Nebraska. The couple farmed in the Decatur area until retiring in 1976 and moving into town. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Nellie and Dwayne Karlin of Fremont, Nebraska, and Marylin and Charles Richardson of Onawa, three sons, Elton of Decatur, Willard "Red" of Macy, Nebraska, and Edward "Eddie" and his wife, Evelyn, of Lyons, two brothers, Leo of Boise, Idaho, and Donald of Verdigre, Nebraska, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Howard, two sisters and five brothers.
