Bio

Lola Marie Daniel passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Aug. 15, 2017 in Tyler. Lola was born July 30, 1942 in Rockwall County, Texas to James Alfred and Ollie (Archer) Smith and she was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Larry Daniel. Lola had a wonderful personality that charmed everyone she met. She worked for, and retired from, Terrell State Hospital where her beautiful smile and helpful nature endeared her to both patients and colleagues over the course of her career. After retirement, Lola enjoyed traveling and spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made sure to tell them every chance that she could how much she loved them. Lola loved her dogs, especially her traveling companion, Buddy. A kind woman with a genuine character, Lola will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathy Marie Cline and husband, Andrew Britt; sons: John Darrell Bailey, Scott Bailey and wife, Teresa; grandchildren: Jamie Lynn Fowler and husband, Toby, Mark Allen Tilley and wife, Lady, Megan Nichole Bailey; great grandchildren: Tobi Lynn Skinner, Kobe Tilley, Bella Cruz Tilley, Bailey Nevarez, C. J. Rachal and Layla Tilley; Mother, Ollie Smith; sisters: Margie Gwen Stephens and husband, Ardith and Alphie Hughes as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 10:30am, Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Kaufman Co., Texas. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Friday, Aug. 18, at Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations.
