Bio

Daniel was a farmer and census records show his parents were both born in Ky. Family tradition tells that his parents died when he was a child and as a result he became separated from his siblings and lost contact with them. Family tradition also tells that as a young orphan boy he served the Union Army during the Civil War as a cook. Daniel married Annie Belle Shuman on 5 Dec 1879 at Rowlett Creek Church in Collin County. They had five children. When Daniel died his young widow moved with her children to Eastland County where her parents lived and she later married Frank M. Webb (no children from this marriage). Daniel and Annie Belle had two sons (Robert Swan, C. Frank) and three daughters (Mary Ellen, Aisley Catherine, Julia Mae).
