Services are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. He was born on March 26, 1948, in Sherman, TX, the son of Oneal Elmer Lilly and Pauldeane V. (Flowers) Lilly. He graduated from Howe High School in 1966. In 1965 he received the 'Lone Star Farmer Award' and after graduating he received the 'American Farmer Award'. Larry attended Grayson County College and received his degree in Agriculture. He was self employed working as a Rig Welder. He was of the Baptist Faith, and was a member of the Sherman Elk's Lodge, AmVets, American Legion and the Welders Association. Larry was a Veteran of the United States Army serving as an MP in the Vietnam War. When he returned from the war he started a career of hay hauling, fence building and welding. He was a part of the oil boom in the early 80's in and around Oklahoma City, OK. After the oil boom he welded in Powerhouses, Papermills, and General Construction from Bakersfield, CA to Eddieville, IA and many places in between. Larry never met a stranger; he and Linda took in and adopted many people over the years. Larry loved to sit in the yard with his friends relaxing under the shade trees. He was tough and ornery at times and wanted everyone to stand up the way he did. When a friend was injured, Larry told him, 'I've had worse in my eye'. Larry will be sorely missed by all.
