Bio

Herald Coaster, June 15, 1993: Rosie Annie Hubenak, 86, of Alvin, died June 14. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manvel and had been a member of the Altar Society for more than 40 years and a member of the KJZT for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Hubenak, on Aug. 14, 1990. Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Ann and Charles Orsak of Alvin, and Rose and James Stanley of Austin; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Louis Hubenak of Alvin, Joe and Sandra Hubenak of Rosenberg, and John and Helen Hubenak of Missouri City; a sister, Annie Lubojacky of Angleton; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manvel. A wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. A mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart, with Father Tom McReavy, CVS, Father James Miller, OMI, and Father Eric Pitre as celebrants. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will be David Orsak, Gary Orsak, Jeff Orsak, Allen Hubenak, Glenn Hubenak, Andrew Hubenak, Anthony Hubenak, Chris Stanley, David Evans, Roland Salazar, and Carlo Minotti. The family requests that in lieu of usual remembrances, memorials be made to the Rosie Hubenak Memorial Fund for the Poor, c/o Sacred Heart Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel 77578. Services are under the direction of Oak Park Funeral Home in Alvin.
