Bio

According to her death certificate, Mary was the daughter of William and Martha Patterson Kelso of Kentucky. A Findagrave contributor writes , "Please see Census 1860 United States Federal Census for Nancy J Kelsoe Tennessee Monroe . Mary Patterson is listed as 70 years old. I have also found a Slave Schedule for a Mary Patterson in Monroe County, TN. So I am confident that Mary Patterson is not Mary L Kelso Gregory's mother. No one knows why Mary Patterson was entered as her mother on her Death Certificate. Thank you, Peggy A Hyde Ryan." She was married to Albert Watson Gregory and they were parents of David, Charles, Joe, Mannie, Emma, Thomas, William, Nancy, Charles, Mercer, Albert and Lizzie.
