Rose Marie (Bailey) McElfresh, 96, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 1, 2014 in Shawnee. She was born on September 6, 1918 to Owen and Lula (Cox) Bailey in Lincoln County, Oklahoma where she was raised. Rose lived in Chandler, Drumright, Davenport and Britton, Oklahoma, before moving to Tecumseh in 1997 where she has resided since. Rose was a devoted and loving wife and mother who raised a houseful of boys and one girl. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; they were the focal point of her life. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene and was the Sunday school superintendent for many years. Rose was very active in missions, Sunday school, loved working with children, and loved writing and sewing. Rose was a very devout Christian and was a praying woman. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Bob, Bud and Clyde Bailey; 2 sisters, Mona and Ann Young; and an infant sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Herman “JR” and Marilee McElfresh of Payson, AZ, Pastor Ron and Helen McElfresh of Pueblo West, CO, Don McElfresh of Homestead, FL and Gary and Rhonda McElfresh of Tecumseh, OK; 1 daughter, Leta Rose Cates of Tecumseh, OK; 14 grandchildren; over 40 great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Sherman Bailey; and numerous extended family and friends.
