Obituary: Mrs. Lequita Joy Gauntt Money, age 84, of Hays, widow of John William (Bill) Money, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hays with the Rev. Julius Blevins, Rev Brian Blankenship, and the Rev. Jason Wiles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Mrs. Money was born October 27, 1930 in Greenville, Texas to Aubrey E. Gauntt and Daffie Lee Manley Gauntt. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Hays and was a homemaker. Mrs. Money was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John William (Bill) Money, one son, Rickey Lawrence Money, one sister, Jaunda Gauntt Hensley, and one brother, Elbert Gauntt. She is survived by: three daughters, Glenda Montgomery and husband, Willie, of Abilene, TX, Johnnita Wiles and husband, Gary, of Hays, and Beverly Morris and husband, Mickey, of Holland, MI; six grandchildren, Shellie Adams Holloway, Tara Adams Laws, Katie Wiles Caicedo, Jacob Wiles, Micki Morris and Elizabeth Morris; seven great-grandchildren, Marlene Perry, Erica Perry Reedy, Samantha Perry, Breanna Laws, Kellan Wiles, Tate Wiles, and Madeline Caicedo; four great-great-grandchildren, Dylan, Siren, Archer, and Erin; one sister-in-law, Alta Gauntt of Quinlan, TX. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Gideons International Wilkes North Camp, P.O. Box 1791, North Wilkesboro NC 28659, or to Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 47, Hays NC 28635.
