William "Verl" Orton, 73, of East Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Delavan, Illinois, passed away at 8:25 pm Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Unity Point Heath Methodist in Peoria, Illinois. He was born June 8, 1941 in Higbee, Missouri to George William and Mary Ellen Westfall Orton. He married Ruth Ann Nelson on February 2, 1961. Surviving are one son, Richard L. (Lynda) Orton; two daughters, Denise K. (Lance) Zwart and Ruthie A. Malz; 14 grandchildren; four brothers, Donald Orton, Charlie (Georgeann) Orton, Larry Orton and Joe Orton and one sister, Hester "Sue" Caswell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Crystal Ann Janowiak.
