Herald Coaster, August 31, 2000: Funeral services for Alvin Rohan, 76, of Needville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Henry Rachunek will officiate the services. Family visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Boulevard, FM 2218 and Highway 59, in Rosenberg. Mr. Rohan was born Dec. 8, 1923 in Hallettsville to Julius Rohan and Elenora Kallus Rohan, and he passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, in Needville. Alvin served in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of the American Legion Post 271 and past vice-commander and a member of SPJST Lodge #81. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Elenora Rohan; a brother, Leonard Rohan; and a brother-in-law, Albert Holub. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lucille Skarpa Rohan of Needville; his daughters, Mary Ann Grudziecki and her husband, John, of Rosenberg, and Joyce Sralla and her husband, Lester, of Needville; his sons, Robert Rohan and his wife, Betty, of Needville, Richard Rohan and his wife, Karen, of Rosenberg, and Michael Rohan and his wife, Sabrina, of Muncie, Ind.; his sisters, Dorothy Holub of La Grange and Bernice Petrosky of Rosenberg; his brother, Julius Rohan of Deer, Ark.; his grandchildren, Chad Rohan, Shelly Vining, James and Cody Gruziecki, Beth Rohan, and Jana, Jamie, and Jennie Hausler; great-grandchild, Brooke Vining; step-grandchildren, Phillip Grewe, Rebecca Pond, Zachary and Kayla Loessin, Cheryl and Carl Fann, and Earl Bear; and step-great-grandchildren, Lauren and Kaeleigh Fann, Avery Pond, and Brooklyn and Raven Bear. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, (281) 341-8100.
