"Dan Balusek, 91, of Cameron, died Sunday, November 23, 2014, in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were 1:30 pm Wednesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Kueker officiating. Burial followed in the Hope Lutheran Memorial Park in Buckholts. Dan, a retired self employed general contractor and architect, was born October 8, 1923, in Granger to Emil and Louise Wentreck Balusek. Dan married Ann Schiller October 14, 1972. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2010 in Cameron where he had served for over 40 years in many capacities. He was a lifelong member of the Buckholts Brethren Church where he served as church chairman and taught Sunday School and confirmation classes. He was a member of S.P.J.S.T. where he had served as president of SPJST #47 in Seaton, as a District 2 director and chairman of the nursing home committee on which he was instrumental in implementing the assisted living program in Taylor. He is survived by his wife and daughter and two grandchildren and two great grandchildren." Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home .
