Connie A. Sabatka, 71 of Weston, NE, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 24, 2014 in Omaha, NE. She was born October 31, 1943 in David City, NE to Harold and Cecilia (Sauser) Zegers. Connie graduated from David City Aquinas High School. On August 13, 1966, she was united in marriage to Darrell Sabatka at Presentation Catholic Church in Marietta, NE. Connie and Darrell farmed in rural Weston for most of their lives. Connie was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston. She was an excellent baker and cook. Cooking for her family was one of her favorite hobbies. She always enjoyed gardening and canning the produce. Her cats had a special place in her heart. Some of her favorite times came from the Wednesday shopping trips with Duane, Gene, and Jeannie. She loved spending time with her family. She is survived by children, Susan Schmidt and Kevin Sabatka; grandchildren, Skylar, Lizzy, Justin, Jennifer, and Megan; brothers, Gene Zegers, Ronnie (Christine) Zegers, and Bob (Deanna) Zegers; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Zegers, Elaine Montgomery, and Carol (Plas) Johnson; brother-in-law, Ron (Rose) Sabatka; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; parents; brothers, Dennis Zegers and Duane Zegers. Rev. Matthew Vandewalle will be officiating the service.
