Bio
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Melvin Tischler, 85, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Temple Baptist Church, 5413 38th Street, Lubbock, with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Melvin went to his heavenly home Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Melvin was born in Priddy, Texas, February 14, 1927 to the late Charlie and Emma (Pinkert) Tischler. He married Loda Pauline Schlenker on October 20, 1949, who preceded him in death in 2004. Melvin farmed in the Lubbock area for over 50 years. After retiring, he raised vegetables and watermelons.
