Obituary Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Emmer H. Martin, 68. Mrs. Martin passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on Sunday morning. Mrs. Martin was born in Blue Mountain, Ark., on March 16, 1925 and spent her early years there. She and her husband Leonard were married April 19, 1941 in Magazine, Ark., and moved to California in 1950 first settling in the Lost Hills and Buttonwillow area and then coming to Taft in 1987. Mrs. Martin, who was a member of the Buttonwillow Southern Baptist Church was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Martin in 1992, by her father Samuel McCormick in 1968, and by her brother Richard McCormick in 1987. She is survived by her mother, Lennere. McCormick of Bakersfield; three daughters and their husbands, one brother, one sister, five grandchildren and their spouses, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and friends. Friends are invited to call at the Taft Funeral Home on Monday from noon until 5 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. to pay their respects.
