Theodore J. "Ted" Golus, 91, of Loup City died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. Martin Egging will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City. Mr. Golus was born Feb. 15, 1923, on a farm near Rockville to Peter J. and Cecelia A. (Kuta) Golus. He attended rural schools in Sherman County, St. Josaphat's Catholic School and graduated from Loup City High School in 1941. After graduation he farmed with his parents southeast of Loup City and in 1952 he moved to a farm west of Loup City. He married Rosemary Miller on Oct. 15, 1960, at Loup City. They continued to live on the farm, where they raised their family of seven children. He was active in St. Josaphat's Church. He retired and moved to Loup City in 1997. He was a charter member of Sherman County National Farmers Organization; member of the Loup City Co-op board for 15 years; life member of the Knights of Columbus since 1945; District 44 school board member; member of the Sherman County Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Committee; Sherman County school re-organization committee; and St. Josaphat's Catholic Church, lector, Eucharistic Minister and Bible study group. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Loup City; daughter, Kathy Golus of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and RoxAnne Golus of Holdrege; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tim Riley of Omaha; son, David of Grand Island; son, Jeffrey of North Platte; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Eileen of Holdrege and Kevin and Jen of Loup City; grandchildren, Rebecca and Melissa Golus; Elliott and Jameson Riley; Justin, Michael and Anna Golus; and Carson and Finley Golus; brother, Harold Golus of Grand Junction, Colo.; and sisters, Loretta Drake of San Diego, Calif., Marjorie Whalen of Baton Rouge, La., Virginia Lucero of San Diego, Calif., and Patricia Asher of Washington, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Margaret; and sister, Jeannette Guynes.
