Bio
Mary Jane Oliver, 84, of Houston, formerly of Waco, died Thursday in Houston. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery. Mrs. Oliver was born May 26, 1902, near Palestine. She was a longtime Waco resident and had lived in Houston several years. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 24 years of service. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ in Waco and in Houston. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club and the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was married to Robert (Bob) Oliver. Survivors include a son, Robert D. (Dough) Oliver of Houston; a daughter, Tressie C. Shiflet of Groves; a brother, Raymond Campbell of Bosqueville; five sisters, Cora Skilleren of Mart, Vera ARnold, Myrtie Lightfoot and Kathy Hale, all of Waco, and Margaret Kellum of Houston: six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
