Ocala Star-Banner (FL) - June 18, 1996 Deceased Name: William H. White William H. White, 79 WEIRSDALE -- William H. White, 79, a retired merchant and farmer, died June 15, 1996 at the Veterans' hospital in Gainesville. A native of Glen Alpine, N.C., Mr. White came here from there in 1958. He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Summerfield; a charter member and officer of Glen Alpine American Legion Post 395 from 1945-59; and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy White, Weirsdale; daughters, Dorothy W. Pittman, Deltona, Dianne Baxley, Weirsdale; sons, Richard White, Weirsdale, Herbert L. White, Greensboro, N.C.; sisters, Ruth Orders, Hildebran, N.C., Mabel Beal, Akron, Ohio, Esther Gammenthaler, Murphy, N.C., Ruby Nelle Crawley, Morgantown, N.C.; brothers, John White, Jacksonville, Ben White, Lancaster, S.C., Joe White, Gainesville, Steve White, Cullowee, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
