Mr. John Gloyd Buckman, age 87 of Belleville, AR died Tuesday, December 24, 1996 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville. He was born in Belleville, AR. August 30, 1909, son of the late Thomas Boles and Edna Elnora Hunt Buckman. He retired after 58 years as owner and operator of Buckman Water Well Drilling. He was a member of the Havana Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wives, Jewell Payne Buckman and Ura Denton Buckman. Survivors include his wife, Lena Mae McConnell Buckman; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Willa Dale Buckman of Belleville; a sister, Thelma Grady of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Brad Buckman of Flower Mound, TX, Chris Buckman of Belleville, Glenna Gale Buckman of Russellville and Amy Herndon of Little Rock; four greats grandchildren, Dallas Herndon of Little Rock and Brandon, Brian and Brenton Buckman all of Belleville. Funeral service was December 26 at the Cornwell Chapel in Danville with Rev. E. O. Tackett and Rev. Bart Herndon officiating. Burial was in Russell Cemetery, Belleville. Pallbearers were Brad Buckman, Chris Buckman, Bart Herndon, Noble Gene Buckman, Danny Majors and Curt Eudy. Arrangements by Cornwall Funeral Home, Danville.
