................... She was born in San Bernardino on July 9, 1884. Mrs. Souther's parents were the late Joseph Smith Littlefield and Sarrah Catherine Davidson, who both came to the San Bernardino valley with Mormon emigrants in 1852. Her mother and father were married in San Bernardino in 1865 and they had 11 children. Mrs. Souther married George Ralphs, who died in 1932. They lived for 25 years in the old Ralphs' home at 1232 Mill street. They farmed their ranch, sold vegetables and finally Mr. Ralphs engaged in the grading business. He owned 50 mules and contracted and level the ground for the San and levelled the ground for the San Bernardino Valley Junior college and many other construction jobs. In June, 1935, she married Walter Souther and they built the home in which she died. Surviving besides Mr. Souther are two sisters, Florence May Harris and Nettie Mable Hunter, and two brothers, Malon Littlefield and Lyman Denver Littlefield.
