Bio
Greeley County Clerk, Patrick NcNelis, 74, died Sunday, January 23rd at the St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island. He had been transferred there the day before from the hospital in St. Paul. Death was due to leukemia. Funeral services were held last Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church in Greeley with the Rev. Andrew Gonda officiating. Burial was in the Sacreed Heart Cemetery at Greeley. The courthouse was closed all day Wednesday out of respect for Mr. McNelis who had served as county clerk for 28 years. He is survived by his wife, Eva; one step-son, Charles Murphy of Kearney, one brother, James of Greeley; one sister, Mrs. Mary Donovan of Greeley; several step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
