born to Frank and Mary (Kush) Sliva. wed to Flavian Shemek at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Tarnov, NE on Nov 26, 1940. Survived by her seven children, Mary Ann and Bill Neal of Columbus, Flavian Jr. “Flip” and Pat Shemek of Coal Valley, Ill., Jane and Paul Fischer of Rock Island, Ill., Bill Shemek of Tarnov, Carolynne and Danny Steager of Lindsay, Duane and Bill Shemek of Humphrey, Nori Barber of Salem, Mass.; 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; husband Flavian on Nov. 9, 1999; little sister Barbara; and two brothers, Edward and Alex and their wives, Victoria and Clemantine.
