"Mrs. Catherine Knust, 74, died Friday at her Howells home. Funeral services will begin Tuesday with a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at Humlicek Funeral Home and a 10 a.m. Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Howells, with the Rev. Thomas DeBacker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Her body will lie in state today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be 7:30 and 8 p.m. rosaries today at the funeral home. She was born Jan. 28, 1903 in rural Howells to Frank and Caroline (Baumert) Eusterbrock and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Schools. Feb. 16, 1926 she married Bernard J. Knust and they farmed southeast of Howells. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Altar Society. Survivors include sons Dennis of Seatle, Wash., and Lambert of Lawrence, Kan.; daughters, Mrs. Frank (Alvina) Kreikermeier of Dodge, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Peitzmeier of West Point, Mrs. Harold (La Rose) Meister of South Sioux City, Mrs. Joseph (Viola) Kreikemeier of Scribner and Mrs. Raymond (Lorraine) Ottmeier of North Bend; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Knust and Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Knust of Howells, Mrs. James (Mary) Vogel of Boise, Idaho, and Pauline Eusterbrock of St. Edward; brother, Frank Eusterbrock of Dodge; 35 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dec. 12, 1973, one daughter; two grandsons, parents, one brother and one sister." Columbus Telegram, Columbus, Nebraska, Monday, October 3, 1977.
