Bio

Norris Pierre Landreneau, a retired parole officer for the Louisiana Department of Corrections, died of complications from surgery Thursday at West Jefferson Medical Center, Marrero. He was 70. Mr. Landreneau was born in Dupont, La., and lived in Marrero for 22 years. He graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette in 1952 with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. He worked for the state for 30 years, five years as a teacher, and 25 years as a parole officer for the Department of Corrections. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans West Bank Chapter 32, Westwego. He served in the Army during World War II. He received commendations for service in the Tunisian-Sicily, Anzio Beachhead and Rome-Arno campaigns. Survivors include a daughter, Maria Landreneau Curow; a brother, Wilson J. Landreneau; and a sister, Julia Landreneau Rabalais. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 West Bank Expressway, Marrero. Burial will be in St. Patrick No. 3 Cemetery Mausoleum. Published May 28, 1990 in The Times Picayune - New Orleans, LA
