Bio

Roxie was born in Wayne County to William B Hutchinson and Mary Jane Sellers Hutchinson. As a young woman she became despondent and chose to end her life by tying a rope around her waist and anchoring it to a rock. She jumped into water and ended her life. The exact body of water she jumped into is debated to this day. The family placed this rock, which was the one she used, in the cemetery as her headstone. The stone was larger but as it is a sandstone is has diminished in size over the years. This was told to be by Jane Sellers Davis.
