FRIONA — Lavon Renner, 89, of Friona died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sixth St. Church of Christ of Friona with Jeff Procter, minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. Renner was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Leon Junction to Aubrey and Hester Wiggins Baize. She married John Renner on May 15, 1944, in Clovis, N.M. She has been a Parmer County resident since 1945, where she was a founding member of Hub Ladies Association and a member of the Sixth St. Church of Christ. She loved her family and loved to garden. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ted Renner; and three brothers, Harold, Horace and Duane Baize. Survivors include her husband, John Renner of Friona; a son, Gary Renner and wife Karen of Friona; a daughter, Missey Barker and husband John of Sonora; a daughter- in-law, Missy Renner of Luther, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The Renner family would especially like to thank the staff of Bluebonnet Home Health and Hospice in Friona and Prairie Acres Nursing Home of Friona. The family suggests memorials be to Friends of the Friona Public Library, 109 W. Seventh St., Friona, TX 79035; or Prairie Acres Nursing Home, 201 E. 15th St., Friona, TX 79035.
