Obituary appeared in Jefferson City News Tribune, Oct 29, 2014 edition: Elizabeth H. "Betty" Haslag, age 95, of Bonnots Mill, passed away, Monday, October 27, 2014, at the University Hospital & Clinics in Columbia. Betty was born, November 24, 1918, in Bonnots Mill, a daughter to the late Ferdinand and Mayme (Buthe) Meyer. Betty was a graduate of Bonnots Mill High School. On May 18, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Haslag in Bonnots Mill. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1993. Betty worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles as a key punch operator until her retirement in 1981. Betty was a member of St Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill, the Osage County Democratic Club, Osage County Historical Society and the Bonnots Mill Community Betterment Association. Her favorite hobby was eating out. Betty is survived by: one daughter, Georgiann Wright of Bonnots Mill; three sons, Richard Haslag of Truckee, Calif., William "Willie" Haslag of Bonnots Mill and Jerry and his wife Carol Haslag of Bonnots Mill. Betty also is survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband of 47 years, Betty was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and a son-in-law. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014, at St Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill with Fr. Don Antweiler and Fr. George Kramer as concelebrants. Interment will follow in the St Louis of France Parish cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Louis of France Catholic Church or to Bonnots Mill Child Development Center.
