Bio
Thomas “Tom” Marion Parkhill, Sr went to South Kentucky College at Hopkinsville on a baseball scholarship, although he was a sixth grade dropout. He never went past 6th grade because he quit school to work in the family business, a brickyard. He was very good at baseball and got paid more to play for the college than he did playing for the majors. He never told his wife that he never attended any classes because he knew she may not have married him because he was not well educated. His wife was a school teacher and highly valued education.
