Leota B. Hardesty Leota B. Hardesty, 86, Neosho, Mo., died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Medicalodge in Neosho following an extended illness. Mrs. Hardesty was born June 26, 1919, in Udall, Kan., and moved to Neosho in 1964, from Fayetteville, Ark. Leota owned and operated the Jan Lynn Studio on the Neosho square until her retirement in 1986. She had received formal training at the Winona School of Photography in Wisconsin. She was a former member of ABWA; the BPW; Neosho Women?s Club; a charter member of the Soroptimist Club; and was a Baptist. She is survived by a daughter, Dana Shadwick and husband, Dave, of Neosho; and four grandchildren, David Gates, Dallas, Texas, Diane Cochran and husband, Steve, Rhome, Texas, Chris Shadwick, Webb City, Mo., and Ryan Shadwick, Neosho. Leota is preceded in death by two daughters, Janet Hardesty, in 1966, and Joanne Gates, in 1986. Services will be Friday, March 31, at 1 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho. Rev. Ryan Palmer will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be David Gates, Chris Shadwick, Ryan Shadwick, Dave Shadwick, Jack Cope and Bob Gorham. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Leota may be made to the Soroptimist Scholarship fund in care of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Arrangements under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
