Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent April 1981 BOELUS - Mrs. Louise M. Petersen, 60, of Boelus died Sunday morning at a Grand Island hospital. Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Boelus. The Rev. Clifford Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Grand Island. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice. Mrs. Petersen was born may 17, 1920, near Boelus, the daughter of Ferdinandt and Mary Larson Reimers. She was a graduate of Boelus High School. She worked at the Jensen Grocery Store in Boelus and also worked as a telephone operator in Boelus before her marriage. On april 16, 1946, she married Gilbert Petersen at Smith Center, Kan. They lived in Texas where he was stationed in the U.S. Army until 1961. Then they moved to a farm in the Boelus area. He re-entered the Army, and they lived on various Army posts around the country until his retirement in 1977. They retired to a farm near Boelus. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Boelus. She was affiliated with the American Legion auxiliary and the Friendship Club, both in Boelus. Survivors include her husband and five brothers, Virgil Reimers of Grand Island, Lee and Richard, both of Boelus, Glen of Westland, Mich., and Gilbert of Boulder, Colo.
