He had worked in a men's store in Sacrameto, Calif. before retiring and moving in January, 1970, to Billings. After World War I and his discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Pestal operated the Grand Hotel tailor shop in Billings before 1933. Mr. Pestal was born Jan. 2, 1889, in Trebic, Austria[*], a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pestal. He lived in Omaha, Neb., before homesteading near Roy, Mont., in 1913. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virginia P. Medor, Sacramento; four brothers, Joe of 68th and Grand Ave., Ludwig and John of Omaha, Neb., and Lester of San Francisco; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Storch of Omaha and Mrs. Francis Niki of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Dahl-Brown Chapel. Major James Berry of the Salvation Army will officiate.
