Moberly Monitor Index, Moberly, Missouri March 21, 1983 Ethel Ora Butts, 95, Moberly, died at 3:30 a.m. today at North Village Manor, Moberly. She had been in failing health. She was born August 12, 1887, south of Moberly, daughter of Hezekiah Hamilton and Cordelia Ann Hamilton. She was retired assistant postmistress at Renick. She had lived in Renick most of her life but moved to Moberly in 1976. She was a member of the Renick Christian Church, Helping Hands Sunday School Class and Happy Hour. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Butts in 1942. They were married May 3, 1908, at Renick. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Surviving are two sons, Carl Butts, Des Moines, Iowa; and Howard Bill Butts, Renick; daughter, Retha Overby, Moberly; granddaughter, Marla Butts, Renick; two daughters-in-law, three step-grandchildren and nieces. Service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Million -Taylor Funeral homes in Moberly, with Earl Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
