Bio

The following was written by Abby's daughter, Bessie Ruckman Garner, about her mother's death. "On November 12, Mama became ill and had Jack take her to the hospital. There while being admitted she had a heart attack. Later that afternoon she had a severe attack at which time her heart stopped. Open heart massage was performed and her heart started again. She lived until Tuesday morning, November 17, passing away at 8:05 a.m. When Mama died the light went out for Papa and having been sick not too long before Mama's passing, he quickly went down and we put him in the hospital on Christmas Eve afternoon. He passed away 3 days later. After a church service here (Portland, Oregon) their bodies were flown to Marionville where another service was held for them. They were laid to rest in their family plot where two babies had been laid away so long ago. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Marionville, Missouri."
