MERKEL Del Roy Jezek, 83, formerly of Miles, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, in a local nursing center. The family will have a memorial graveside service in Miles Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel. Del Roy was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Temple, Texas, to Constance (Blaha) and Pete Jezek. He graduated from San Angelo High School in 1948. Del Roy was a cotton farmer and raised cattle in Miles for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses. Survivors include daughters Connie Lowe and husband Steve of Clyde, Paula Morgan and husband Russell of Merkel and Becky Rosson and husband Robert of San Angelo; mother of his children, Ada Rosser of Bertram; four grandchildren, R.W. Rosson of San Angelo, Nicole Morgan and Sydney Morgan, both of Merkel, and Rachel Lowe of Clyde; and niece Kathleen Schiller of Eola. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dennis Jezek; and sister Dorothy Anderson.
