Sargent Leader Jan 13, 1972 Mrs. Eva Alvira (White) Roach 53 Arcadia Native Former Sargent Resident died at Scottsbluff Eva Alvira White, the daughter of Enoch and Bertha White was born on Jan 1, 1919 at Arcadia, Nebraska and she departed this life at Scottsbluff, Nebraska on Wednesday January 5, 1972 at the age of 53 years and 4 days. She received her education at the public schools in Arcadia and graduated from high school there with the class of 1937. She taught school for two years at the Antelope Valley rural school south of Sargent. While teaching she made her home with her sister, Mrs. Howard Leibert. On December 24, 1940 she was united in marriage to Mr. Milo Roach and to this union one daughter Judith was born. In 1942 the Roach family moved to Scottsbluff, Scottsbluff, Nebraska. There Alvira became a member of the United Methodist Church. During her lingering illness not once did she complain. Her interest has and still was concerning her family and friends right up to the time of her death at the Graymor Manor Rest Home on Thursday January 5. She was preceded in death by her parents and by three brothers and by two sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Milo Roach, daughter Judy, now Mrs. Dean Freauf, son in law Dean Freouf, three grandchildren, Scott, Kim and Missy. Three sisters Edith, Mrs. Allan Holmes, Genevieve Mrs Kenneth Dorsey of Arcadia, Nebraska and Almedia, Mrs. Howard Leibert of Sargent and by three brothers, Harlow White of Brady, Nebraska, Kenneth Leibert of Sargent and Wilbur of California, also many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and by a host of friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday January 7, 1972 at the Benson Joliffee Funeral Home at Scottsbluff with Rev. Loyd J. Bliss officiating. Mrs. Darcella J. McIntosh was organist and Kenneth R. Love, Soloist. The remains were sent then to Sargent, Nebraska where a brief short memorial service was held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday January 8, 1972 at the Rhoad funeral home in Sargent with Rev. Robert Frescoln of the local Methodist Church officiating. Pallbearers were Marlin Bomberger, Al Coleman, Lenny and Steve Doresy, Jim Snyder and Gary White. Committal services and interment were made in the Mt Hope Cem near Sargent.
