Halley Love Cooper, 93, of Austin passed away March 23, 2006. The son of Thomas James Cooper and Eppie Sue Love Cooper, Halley was born October 29, 1912, in Florence, Texas. The Loves were one of the original pioneer families that settled in the Central Texas area in the 1890's. A 1935 graduate of the School of Pharmacy, Halley was always proud that the UT Tower was being built while he was attending the University of Texas. Mr. Cooper retired from Hyde Park Pharmacy in Austin in 1976. An active member of Hyde Park Methodist Church, he enjoyed cooking with the men's group at the church. He was preceded in death by two wives, Theresa Jurecka Cooper and Floy Smoot Cooper. He is survived by his third wife, Margaret Sowers Cooper; daughters, Charlyne Cooper and Donna Smoot Martin. His grandchildren are Bret Stidham, Chaille Love Lucas and Juli Hill. Visitation was from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services were Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Mausoleum Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, with graveside services and burial following.
